Gluten-Free Oats Video & Handout from FNCE DIGID Breakfast 2016

Gluten-Free Oats Video & Handout from FNCE DIGID Breakfast 2016

Dietitians in Gluten Intolerance Diseases held a breakfast on oats at FNCE this year. This event was sponsored by GF Harvest and the featured speaker was Seaton Smith. A miller of mechanically and optically sorted oats also was invited to speak at this breakfast but they declined. As a result, information on sorted oats was provided by me. Please print the pdf of the oat handout provided to dietitians at this event before listening to the video (otherwise the video will not make any sense to you). The handout on oats is available at digidoatsbreakfastattendees

Great video, thanks Tricia. Do you have any information regarding how Kellogg’s manufactures their gluten free oat products (purity protocol vs mechanical/optical)? I’m thinking about Kellogg’s Gluten Free waffles (oat flour is the first ingredient). My daughter has celiac disease and she eats these almost every morning.

thank you for everything you do!

Glad you like the video, Bob. I do not know the source of Kellogg’s oats. But we should test these waffles. I will resume contacting manufacturers about the source of their oats soon.

that would be great, thank you. We received our Nima sensor so I plan on testing it on that tonight. I’d be happy to post the results if you feel like it would be helpful.

        Have a great day!
