Gluten Free Watchdog calls on Nima Labs, Inc. to release third party testing data to their community and to others interested in using the Nima Sensor.
Nima Labs, Inc. has presented useful third party testing data of their Nima Sensor device at selected conferences, but has requested that conference attendees refrain from more widespread dissemination. We are asking them to release the data privately to their users and to others interested in using the device.
Information on false negatives: Nima Labs, Inc. states on their website that the Nima Sensor detects gluten at the 20 ppm level 99.5% of the time. If Nima Labs, Inc. has third party data that conflict with this number, updated numbers should be provided to users of this device and those interested in purchasing this device.
Information on gluten found result: Nima Labs, Inc. states on their website that when a food contains a level of gluten below 2 ppm, the Nima Sensor is reporting gluten found 7.8% of the time. Nima Labs, Inc. should be fully transparent with their current and potential users and share third party data on how often a level of gluten of 5 ppm, 10 ppm, etc. results in gluten found.
