Liquid IV: Statement from Gluten Free Watchdog
Gluten Free Watchdog received several complaints about this product from consumers after they tested Liquid IV using lateral flow devices, including EZ Gluten and Nima Sensor and received positive results for gluten. A consumer’s retained sample and a new box of the same flavor of Liquid IV were tested at Bia Diagnostics, LLC (an accredited laboratory) using the fully validated sandwich R5 ELISA, the competitive R5 ELISA, and EZ Gluten test strips.
When the product was tested using the sandwich and competitive R5 ELISAs, no detectable gluten was found. Note: results are reported by the lab as < 5 ppm and < 10 ppm which is below the lower limit of quantification for gluten for the two assays used. However, the samples also tested below the lower limit of detection, testing at the zero standard.
When the recommended weight amount of sample was tested using EZ Gluten test strips, the result was negative for gluten.
False positive results were found when more than the recommended weight amount of product was tested using the EZ Gluten test strips.
Consumer testing of food with lateral flow devices may sometimes lead to false positive results. This is due to several factors, including the ingredients present and how the food is sampled for testing.

I have given up on eating out. Cross contamination is real in a restaurant! I’m learning to eat better at home!
Thank you so much for providing this info… I saw this lady on Tik Tok test liquid IV and found gluten… I have celiac and used to drink two a day to help replenish my electrolytes and vitamins that I have lost due to celiac and drinking them made me feel so much better! I stopped drinking them after I thought they had gluten even though they never once made me sick.
I would recommend liquid IV to anyone who is having heart palpitations, dizzy spells, or anything relating to depletion of essential nutrients due to celiac
You are most welcome, Hannah.
Is liquid IV safe for those with celiac or is there gluten in it?
