How is it that the Scones have a “NSF certified GF”? Are they just adding it there without getting real certification?
I filed a report with NSF. They have not yet provided any information.
If you don’t look you don’t find. I checked for 2018 and 2019 and USFDA had zero and 1 recall respectively for gluten. USDA that had 1 that GFWD reported.
You can look yourself at:
USDA https://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/recalls-and-public-health-alerts/recall-case-archive USFDAhttps://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts
Obviously, not a FOOD SAFETY concern as in Canada and EU. So sad!!
It is horrible, Frank. Truly horrible.
I’m not seeing where product four claims to be a gluten free product – can you clarify why this is a violation?
The gluten-free claim is in the upper right hand corner of front packaging.
Thank you, I see it now. It’s ‘barley’ noticeable (pun intended)
This is just sick! I won’t/can’t eat anything that is ‘labeled’ gluten free if it has Modified Food Starch! What was it ‘modified’ with and what was the ‘starch’???
So So Scary!
Thank you so much, Tricia!
It is amazing how so many people/companies, are simply sticking a gf label on products, with no regard for the people who need it, and treat this disease, as if it is a joke. At street fairs, so often I see gf labels on food products. Each time, I ask questions the people selling, about their GF safety; most people in small food production, seem to have no clue what I am talking about. A couple years ago, I decided to take the food service test, just to see what was on it. Not one thing was said about gluten, allergies, or cross contamination. This, I think, needs to be changed.
Thank you again, for your hard work in keeping all of us safer.
